What is it?

Miss Ethel's Rolling Pin was the first wooden product created by one of our favorite brands, Riley/Land. This French rolling pin is made out of a mix of Black Walnut, Cherry and Maple. This style of rolling pin was very popular amongst Harlemites, most of whom didn't have enough countertop space to actually use them, but wanted one anyway. It disappeared from the Riley/Land Collection for a while, but now it is back.  The rolling pin was named Miss Ethel after one of Joseph's great-great aunts. "I remember her coming to my great grandma's house when we were kids and those old women just having the best time, laughing and telling stories. I named the fancy rolling pins after strong women, all of whom were old when I was a kid. It's a way of keeping their memories alive."

An heirloom-quality gift for the newly married couple, the new homeowner or anyone who loves to bake.

What’s in it for you?

Miss Ethel's Rolling Pin is an extra long, heavier weight, French style rolling pin handcrafted of a mixture of woods that have been masterfully fused and polished to a beautiful sheen. Any baker - professional, casual or beginner - would love to have it and will cherish it for many years to come.

This beautiful wooden kitchenware is crafted by a small family-owned business run by Joseph Riley Land in rural Tennessee. Each piece is handmade using a learned tradition that is handed down from father to son and spans multiple generations. The vast majority of the pieces come from locally-sourced trees, often from his parents' farm.

The Riley/Land Collection is known for their unique wooden pieces, "new family heirlooms," as Joseph is quick to call them. Riley/Land partners with One Tree Planted, an environmental charity that plants trees around the world hoping to restore damaged ecosystems.
